The Story of Rupert
As a local wise man once said, “Rupert—you’ve gotta earn it.”
Inspired by the great Alpine cheeses, Rupert is named for the community just up the mountain from Pawlet, farmed for generations by hardy Vermonters. Home to the one and only mint that produced Vermont Coppers during the state’s brief stint as its own country, Rupert is pure old-school Vermont—welcoming, rugged, enduring, and independent.
Woodlawn’s Rupert is all of those things—a highly versatile and accessible cheese that’s both sharp and sweet, with complexity and character that only increase over time.
